Prof. Dr. Nicole Bolleyer is Chair of Comparative Political Science at the LMU Munich.
She has published widely on political parties, as well as on civil society organizations in consolidated democracies. "The Study of Intraparty Frictions: Conceptual Reflections on Preference Heterogeneity, Disagreement, and Conflict" co-authored with Ann-Kristin Kölln was recently published in Perspectives on Politics. Her most recent monograph "Civil Society's Democratic Potential: Organizational Trade-offs between Participation and Representation" was published in 2024 with Oxford University Press. PD Dr. Martin Gross is Associate Professor (Akad. Rat a. L.) at the Geschwister Scholl Institute of Political Science, LMU Munich.
He works on local politics, political institutions, party competition, coalition politics in multilevel systems, EU cohesion policy, and sports and politics. Dr. Clara Faulí Molas is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Comparative Political Science at the LMU Munich.
She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Trinity College Dublin. Her main research interests include electoral behaviour, political parties, representation, and EU politics. Hannah Laier is a research assistant at the LMU Munich.
She holds a B.Sc. in Economics and a M.A. in Sociology and is currently pursuing a degree in Computational Social Science. Her professional experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the German Youth Institute (DJI), where she contributed to empirical social science research and quantitative data analysis. Juan Dupetit is a research assistant at the LMU Munich.
He holds a B.A. in Political Science & Law from LMU and is currently pursuing a law degree there. His research interests include migration law, political parties, and populism, as well as criminal law, particularly from a comparative perspective. In addition to his research activities, he regularly teaches at the Faculty of Law and serves as one of the coordinators of the International Research Center for Criminal Law Sciences LMU–Ibero-America. Dr. Patricia Correa is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at Aston University, Birmingham, UK. Her research focuses on the internal organization and the electoral and governmental behaviour of political parties and the main characteristics of party activists, especially in Spain. Recently, she has started working on the impact of new technologies on political parties.

Thareerat Laohabut, M.A. is a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Comparative Political Science at the LMU Munich. Her research interests include party politics, especially party behaviour and competition, multilevel systems, and politics in authoritarian regimes. In her PhD project, she examines how new parties navigate multilevel electoral systems after their initial parliamentary breakthrough. Her research has appeared in journals, such as Comparative European Politics and Journal of East Asian Studies. She is a scholarship recipient and graduate of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Programme in European Politics and Society at Charles University (Czech Republic), Leiden University (Netherlands), and Pompeu Fabra University (Spain).
